About the Role

The analyst role is housed within the Research Department. This department is the powerhouse behind all data that flows through Vantage Shipbrokers. Besides supporting our brokers on compilation of market deals and information, we also provide our clients with insightful reports and ad-hoc market analysis.

The successful incumbent will not only be exposed to data gathering and analytics pertaining to the shipping market, but also to oil product market dynamics and analysis. Skills required include mentoring junior analysts as well as presenting market data to clients.

Exposure and involvement in digital projects is also a possibility depending on the aptitude of the successful applicant.

The Research Department also welcomes interest from applicants with 4-5 years of experience from within the Oil & Gas and Maritime industry. Salary to commensurate with number of years in experience.

To excel in this role, the successful applicant will need to be

well grounded in energy industry fundamentals
able to mentor and groom junior analysts
comfortable with using data entry tools like Microsoft Excel, as well as cloud applications
meticulous in data handling and cleansing
conversant in global news and current affairs
be comfortable in creating visual representations of databases as well as presenting them to clients
